  1. What is the PropertyGuys.com business concept?

PropertyGuys.com is Canada’s largest private sale franchise network, with 85 franchisees across the country who have helped nearly 90,000 Canadians discover a smarter way to sell. We provide homeowners with the tools and expertise to sell their property, at a fraction of the cost of a traditional agent. PropertyGuys.com’s mission is to create clarity around real estate, to put buyers and sellers in control of their experience from coast-to-coast, and become a platform that encompasses “everything real estate.”


  1.     Why and when was the business started? Was there a need in the real estate market for it?

PropertyGuys.com was founded in 1998 in Moncton, New Brunswick by a group of university students who saw a flaw in traditional, offline real estate and wanted to do something to organize and change it for the better. There were many homeowners who wanted to sell privately but didn’t have an organized system to help them navigate the process. PropertyGuys.com was created as the answer to that problem.

Over 20 years later, there’s still a need for disruption in the industry. Commission has become way too expensive for the average person and there’s little to no transparency in the process. With many industries already dramatically changing due to platform innovation, it’s just a matter of time before real estate follows suit. That’s where we come in.


  1.     What is it like being a PropertyGuys.com franchisee? What are the benefits?

As a PropertyGuys.com franchisee (affectionately known as “Zees”), there are no typical days. Our Zees are always meeting with industry professionals, other business owners, and local residents in order to make an impact in their communities.
