The CFA Awards of Excellence in Franchising are the pinnacle of franchise achievement in Canada. These awards recognize excellence in franchise operations and winning franchise systems must demonstrate a dedication to superior franchisee relations, leadership, business planning, marketing, training and support, ongoing operations and communications.
To reflect the wide range of franchise opportunities in Canada and to enable franchise systems to be rated against their peers in their class, entries are separated into Traditional Franchises (e.g. bricks and mortar) and Non-traditional Franchises (e.g. mobile or home-based). Within these categories, entrants are groups based on length of time the franchise system has been operating the New/Emerging categories (three to 10 years) and Mature/Established categories (11+ years).
Each of the categories has a Gold, Silver, and Bronze winner. From amongst the Gold winners, the franchise system with the highest overall score is awarded the coveted Grand Prize in the CFA Awards of Excellence in Franchising competition.
