The WORKS Gourmet Burger Bistro has opened its first Toronto location on the Danforth. The new location is owned and operated by Zaki Zahur, who has over 10 years of experience in the foodservice industry with some of Canada’s leading restaurant brands.
To celebrate the grand opening, The WORKS Toronto Danforth served complimentary food and encouraged customers to make a donation to the Pape Food Bank. The new Toronto menu features burgers named by local celebrities including Trish Stratus, Ben Mulroney and members of the Toronto Argonauts. Additional Toronto locations are expected to open in Leaside, the Beaches and Bloor West.
“The WORKS is bringing its gourmet burgers to new neighbourhoods across Ontario and we are ecstatic to finally be open in the Toronto community,” says Andy O’Brien, President and CEO of The WORKS. “We’re proud to offer our guests, both new and old, the ultimate gourmet burger experience in our new urban factory bistro.”
The WORKS is expected to open eight new locations in 2012, two of which are currently under construction in Waterloo and Peterborough. In total, The WORKS plans to open 50 new locations in communities across Canada, including Calgary and Halifax.
Premier Mobility Announces Expansion Plans
Home healthcare franchise Premier Mobility and Health Products is expanding with the opening of six new locations.

The Melting Pot Opens in Richmond Hill
Fondue restaurant franchise The Melting Pot has opened its second Canadian location in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
