CFA invites franchise system members and franchise support services members to participate in this important project by volunteering to contribute articles. Joint authorship is encouraged if you would like to write with a partner. The steering committee has developed a lengthy list of topics. Please click here for the Expression of Interest form to review the list and let us know on which topics you wish to write about. You are welcome to "raise your hand" for any and all topics where you have a strength of knowledge.Tutorials should range from 1,400 – 1,800 words and must not explicitly or specifically promote any particular company to tutorial readers. Writers will be appropriately attributed for each tutorial.
Expressions of interest will be reviewed in February by the steering committee and tutorials will be assigned to appropriate members based on subject matter expertise, expression of interest in the tutorial topic and regional representation. Tutorial writers will be contacted by CFA in March and will be advised which tutorial topic(s) has been assigned to them. The deadline for draft tutorial articles will be staggered so that all tutorials will not be due at the same time. However, all contributors will be given at least two months to write their articles. We anticipate it may take up to 18 months to complete all the articles.
The tutorials will be vetted by the advisory committee as well as through peer review by members of the Editorial Review Committee, which will include at least one member from an established system, one from a mid-sized system, and one from a new/emerging system. Writers will be involved throughout the editing and review process to ensure that suggested changes and comments are acceptable to the writer.
