Canadian Franchise Association Announces 2008 Frankie Award Winners

(Toronto, ON) May 12, 2008… The Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) congratulates the 2008 Frankie Award winners, representing the top advertising and marketing in Canadian franchising.

Frankie Awards were presented in 15 categories. Mr. Lube led all winners, picking up three Gold Frankies. Oxford Learning Centres received two Golds, and Prime Restaurants took home a Frankie in addition to the Humber College Award for the best overall design entry as judged by the school’s Advertising and Design students.

The awards were handed out May 5, 2008 at the 15th Annual Frankie Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony during the annual CFA National Convention.

Frankie Award entries are submitted by franchisors, advertising agencies and franchising support service providers across Canada. 237 entries were reviewed by a panel of judges among the top professionals in the fields of creative, production and marketing. The entries were judged on clarity of message, originality of concept, effective use of medium, quality of execution, and overall presentation.

The Humber College Award is voted by the college’s Advertising and Graphic Design students and recognizes overall exceptional design. All entries are considered for this special cross-category award and a Gold, Silver and Bronze are presented.

Each year, the Frankie Awards celebrates the creative contributions and excellence in advertising and marketing for Canadian franchising. The Frankie Awards were part of the CFA National Convention, which took place at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario from May 4 – 6, 2008.
