National Convention

Franchisee Recruitment Opportunities
One of CFA’s great strengths is providing members with access to thousands of prospective franchisees.
As Canada’s best resource for franchising information, prospective franchisees rely on CFA to assist them with investigating what franchising can offer through our various events, products and publications.
Our tradeshows bring in thousands of attendees annually and our website receives over a 28,000 unique visitors a month, generating an average of 190 franchise requests per month. FranchiseCanada Magazine and Directory have a combined circulation of over 20,000. That’s a lot of prospective franchisees – your target market.

Award of Excellence
First awarded in 1992, the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) Award of Excellence is presented annually as the ultimate prize in Canadian franchising.
The competition, open exclusively to CFA members, recognizes excellence in franchise operations. Winning systems must demonstrate a dedication to following the CFA’s “best practices”, including superior franchisee relations, teamwork and communication.
CFA Recognition Awards
These awards are given annually by the Canadian Franchise Association to pay tribute to individuals and franchise systems for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the Canadian franchise community and for their commitment and contributions to philanthropic endeavours.

Networking Opportunities
One of the greatest advantages of CFA membership is networking and information sharing. The CFA stands for ethical franchising in Canada. Use of the CFA logo on members print and web materials tells potential and existing franchisees that they adhere to our Code of Ethics and follow our mandatory disclosure rules.
Advocacy & Government Relations
CFA is the national voice for Canadian franchising and works with all levels of government to ensure the development of industry-made solutions.
Legal & Legislative Updates
The CFA provides members with articles and updates on legal and legislative issues affecting the franchise industry from Canada’s top legal and business franchise professionals.
FranchiseVoice Newsletter
The FranchiseVoice is CFA’s official quarterly member newsletter committed to promoting excellence and growth in Canadian franchising and helping franchisors run their business more effectively and efficiently.
Publications
FranchiseCanada Magazine & Directory contain informative and engaging editorial from leading authorities in the industry and award-winning writers as well as countless tips on how to run a successful franchise.
The CFA is proud to produce the annual Franchise Support Services Member Directory, a valuable and convenient resource of over 100 listings of CFA Franchise Support Services (FSS) members across Canada. The directory is also available on our website.
In addition, we have a number of materials available to assist franchisors in becoming more knowledgeable about franchising.
Ombudsman Program
The CFA Ombudsman service, facilitates the resolution of franchise complaints and problems; by discussing the issue(s) and facilitating possible solutions, and where appropriate suggest and refer unresolved complaints and problems to alternative methods of dispute resolution. Any franchisee or franchisor operating in Canada can contract the Ombudsman if they wish to discuss an issue or concern regarding a franchise relationship with a neutral, objective person. There is no charge for members of the CFA.
